My Go-To Breakfast Smoothie

Updated: Feb 13, 2019

I always have Bananas in the fruit bowl because they are really versatile and packed with Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Potassium and Magnesium (all super important). Worst case scenario they get made into Banana bread! Most of my bananas get used in smoothies for breakfast, because when combined with a few other ingredients it is not only filling, but a really healthy way to start the day.

My favourite smoothie recipe has several components, but you would be able to get several batches out of the purchase of these items.

Into your blender or bullet -

1 Banana (i like to freeze mine)

1/4 cup of Oats

1/2 cup Frozen Berries (I prefer raspberries, but any berry or even mango would work)

1 tbsp Chia seeds

1 tbsp LSA mix

1 tbsp Organic Flaxseed Oil

3 tbsp Greek Yoghurt (Or coconut yoghurt if Vegan)

Fill to max line (or 1/2 to 1 cup depending on bullet size) with Coconut water. You could also use Almond or other Nut milk here, but I prefer coconut water for its amazing hydration properties and natural electrolytes.

Blend and serve.

Together the ingredients in this smoothie would give you the benefits of many minerals such as Iron, Magnesium, Calcium and Potassium, Vitamin C and some Bs, fibre, protein and omega 3s. The yoghurt has natural probiotics, and the coconut water contains electrolytes. This smoothie is delicious and an amazing way to start the day!

Enjoy :)
